back in my childhood, i was always with my grandmother.and as a child i remember our house is always filled with those 1940s-60s jam that my granny play and sing to.but it wasnt until gradeschool when i picked up a guitar and learned how to play by virtue of peer pressure.you see, back in the day, the notion was if you know how to play an instrument, the girls come falling.lol it was a massive motivation for a shy teenager.how i got into songwriting is a different story.i started tinkering with my guitar during the pandemic lockdowns and at 42years old, i had some catching up to do.

i grew up in the 90s and those alternative bands during that time remain my influences.nirvana and by extension, foo fighters are the main ones.but my musical taste is ecclectic.i listen to all genres and love most of them.

since highschool, i dreamt of making my own music but sadly, life got in the way.i became a paramedic and physiotherapist and that career made me forget about that dream.then the pandemic came.being on lockdown got me revisiting that dream again and finally last august2020, i decided to complete a song for wife.after that song,it felt like a dam bursting.since then ive completed 23 songs and released 3.

as with every beginning artist, i wanted my music to be heard and eventually leave a legacy that my kids will be proud of.i wasnt built for the stage.im not a singer.but im a songwriter.im still that shy kid who probably wont show my face anywhere but i focus on making music and i hope i get to do this for a long time.

well, i watch the LIVEAID concert 1985 on youtube atleast once a week and id probably say if i were to choose a venue,it would be wembley.

as a beginning artist,i really dont have any equipment aside from my ipad and acoustic guitar.i do all my songs on garageband.and when i finished my first song,i was very excited to release it.when i finally uploaded it, my wife and i told everyone we knew and when the song came out, we listened to it and it sounded terrible! i didnt do any testing, ididnt know anything about EQ, compression etc so every sound competed with each other in the middle and the vocals had out of tune bits.i was horrified.but since all of our friends already heard it,it was too late to back out.i released a remix version just to help my soul heal.lol
the moment when my eldest son,who is 18 and have a different taste in music, comes and tell me, "dad, i love this song". pure bliss.
i always dream of making songs with my heroes.and on top of that list is Sir Paul McCartney. his (and John's)body of work wont probably be duplicated ever. their songs transcend generations and artists like me will always look up to that.
