𝟭. Where are you from and what are your hobbies?

I am from Washington D.C., born and raised since 2004. My hobbies include singing, songwriting, dancing, and performing. I used to say that I was a singer-songwriter, but I realized recently that if you but a dash between the two, it means you write AND compose your music. I usually only write the lyrics to the beat or instrumental I am working with.

𝟮. How did your get into music?

After finding some extra time in my schedule once quarantine started back in March of 2020, I decided to start taking some singing lessons with my wonderful singing teacher Ms. Rochelle Rice. As those lessons progressed, I began to attempt some light songwriting. During that time I continue taking singing lessons for about 5 months before releasing a recital on youtube for my friends and family, which people responded positively to. Shortly after that, I began to take my own songwriting a little more seriously.

𝟯. Who are your biggest influences?

I think my biggest influence is Beyoncé, I am so inspired by everything she does and you won't find a bigger Beyoncé fan in the world. Along with her, I take direct inspiration from orther artists too, like Freddie Mercury, Michael Jackson, and Prince. Artists who I think were real performers. Vocally, I subscribe to the vocal bible that is Whitney Houston and a lot of other talented artists. I think it's important to have a wide variety of influences to pull from because that only makes you a better artist.

4. What are your goals in the music industry?

To become as big as anyone can be. I want to share my music with people everywhere. Even more than that, I want to perform. Performance is my true passion and there is nothing I love more than being on stage. One day, hopefully I'll be able to perform on a larger scale in front of masses of people.

5. If you could choose a location to perform at, what would it be?

Anytime and anywhere. I'm make it very clear; I will take every opportunity I can to perform, regardless of the minor details. There is nothing in the world more fulfilling, more inspiring, more fueling, or that I love more than performing, regardless of something minute like location.

6. What is your all-time favorite song?

Recently? Crazy In Love, by Beyoncé. Whatever mood I’m in, I’m always down to listen to Crazy In Love. And Jay Z's part? He goes so crazy on that.

7. Most embarrassing moment?

I'm not sure. I think I have a lot of embarrassing moments but I find that in life it's best to laugh at yourself whenever they happen. You can't be embarrassed if you thought that the thing you just did was HILARIOUS! It flips the script in the most unusual way, turning the tables from everyone laughing at you, to everyone laughing WITH you. That's life's best cheat code I think.

8. Proudest accomplishment?

Releasing my song! There was a time when I thought any kind of music in my future wouldn't be an option. I was on such a focused track in terms of my dancing and ballet. I had been a ballet dancer for ten years, so I never thought I would (or could) branch off and do what I really wanted. The fact that I was able to not only write a song, but find the courage to release it is still beyond me and definitely my proudest accomplishment to date.

9. What is something about you that might surprise someone who knows you the best?

My favorite kind of music is garbage pop... the more shallow a song is, the more meaningless it is, sign me up! I succumb so easily to a good beat, average songwriting, and flashy performances. I don't know what it is! I just love a good generic pop song.

𝟭𝟬. What is your dream collaboration?

I think Beyoncé, without a doubt. Although, I think even if I got the opportunity, I still wouldn't accept the offer. I think I need to work a little harder before I would be able to sing on the same song as someone so powerful and legendary. I don't sing any of her songs either during performances, just because I feel like if I want to attempt any of her songs, I would really need to give it my all and be able to do the song justice.
