Okay, let’s get into the Ten questions for Amaury Laurent Bernier!

𝟭. 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗼𝗯𝗯𝘆?

Born and raised in France, relocated in Germany for few years. My hobby is also my work, as I’m a film music composer.

𝟮. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰/𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

I think I came pretty late to it. I was around 15, I found an old acoustic guitar and a vinyle of Led Zeppelin at my parent’s cellar. At this time I was listening to very bad dance music. This Record -Led ZEP III- changed my life.

𝟯. 𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗹𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀?

I’m an avid music listener. Lots of soundtrack, classical music, jazz..I played a lot of instruments so I listen also to some mandolin and bluegrass player, but the main influence is def the 70’s prog rock , songwriters and pop from 60’s/70’s.

𝟰. 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰?

About 25 years ago. I almost instantly started to play with a friend who was a much more advanced guitar player. At this time after two weeks playing I was just strumming one chord, doing bass lines on a folk guitar.

𝟱. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗴𝗼𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆?

My job is to write music for films and commercials. I release my music just for fun, I separate very much my main work and this, even if it’s a bit weird cause they’re actually the same. I’m not doing gigs anymore, I stopped about 5 years ago. At this time I was doing more than 60 gigs a year..I grew tired of it. The Studio is much more my happy place now.

𝟲. 𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗮 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗶𝘁 𝗯𝗲?

Probably the Elbphilarmonie in Hamburg. It’s beautiful and one of the best acoustic I’ve ever heard!

𝟳. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝘃𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗴?

I have honestly too much to quote just one. But at this moment I’m a bit obsessed with old classical composers, so I would quote « Venus » from Gustav whilst, from « The Planets » Album.

𝟴. 𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁?

I have regularly embarrassing moments as I am quite always « in the moon » and clumsy. One month ago I was having a Facetile with a director about a project, my daughter spilled her glass of water on the table and I wanted to catch the glass before it falls on the ground. My left foot gutted the table...I broke two bones in my little toe! Two bones. And Live, having the convo about a job.

𝟵. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁?

Well, I’m happy I could sit down in a cinema and listen to my music, my family sitting next to me. But Goals change with ambition and I have other goals now. So I hope my proudest accomplishment is yet to come.

𝟭𝟬. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗲?

I want a super group for my next Album, with Robert Plant and Chris Robinson singing, and members like Chris Thile, Daniel Johns, Johnny Greenwood, Stewart Copeland and Phil Collins (my fav drummers ) Mc Cartney...and the London Philarmonic conducted by Vladimir Cosma. Would be a very interesting thing!
