𝟭. Where are you from and what is your hobby?
I'm from the West Palm Beach area. Besides music, I'm into surfing, free diving, and really trying to stay out of trouble.
𝟮. How did your get into music?
Like so many other people, I heard the Beatles as a child. Without question that was the spark. Then I started sneaking into my big sister's room going through her record collection. She had the B-52s and Ramones... all this cool stuff Her boyfriend (my future bro-in-law) had early Van Halen and AC/DC. It's like a whole universe opened up.
𝟯. Who are your biggest influences?
My biggest influences are Frank Black (Pixies), Paul Westerberg (the Replacements), and Evan Dando (Lemonheads). These song writers wrote as soft or hard as they wanted. They defied being boxed in but you always new it was them. It's about freedom and dynamics. I like artists that grow over time.
4. What are your goals in the music industry?
My goal in the music industry is really just to adapt and keeping up with all the changes that have taken place since I started. It has gone from word-of-mouth, working the telephones, and local scenes to giant social platforms, emails, and playlists. But I suppose being heard is the main goal... otherwise why do it?
5. If you could choose a location to perform at, what would it be?
Budokan! I'm not really sure where it is. Japan? It seems like all these classic rock bands had "Live at Budokan" records. I'm really just an 11pm night club guy.
6. What is your all-time favorite song?
James Taylor's Fire and Rain. That song has a very personal meaning for me. I identify with every single verse.
7. Most embarrassing moment?
We stupidly had an A&R guy come to what was our last show of a tough tour. We were tired and unwell. Second song in I break my D and high E string. The high E I can live without but the D string is non-negotiable. It went down in flames from there. My brother throws his bass at the drummer. We get in the van and drive 15 hours home.
8. Proudest accomplishment?
Anytime some kid would come up to me and say that they saw me play and decided to start a band. If I inspired them or they thought: "If this guy can do it anyone can!" It doesn't matter to me. This is my reward.
9. What is something about you that might surprise someone who knows you the best?
I can't read music notation and I have no clue what music theory means. I just do what sounds good to me. I should probably look into the whole thing.
𝟭𝟬. What is your dream collaboration?
Evan Dando from the Lemonheads. That dude is a good time and has a voice of gold.
