Portland, Oregon. I play and write music, read science and philosophy, and am currently applying to medical school.

My father passed away from cancer when I was 7 months old. He was a musician and left behind a 12-string guitar that I picked up when I was 13. I began teaching myself from that point forward.
Michael Jackson, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Led Zeppelin, Jack Johnson, John Mayer, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Ed Sheeran, Stevie Ray Vaughan, As Cities Burn, Phil Wickham, Jimi Hendrix, Coldplay, My Chemical Romance, Sum 41, Blink-182, the list goes on and on.
I wrote poetry before I began learning music, so I immediately began putting melodies to lyrics and lyrics to melodies around 13 years old.
I'm not sure if I have a hard answer to this question. I think I would like to get a record deal, but that also depends on the circumstances surrounding it and whether or not I can adequately have my music spread without a label. I think fundamentally that I just want my music to touch people in a deeply personal place.
Tiny Desk Concert.
Ooh. This would probably be Human Nature by Michael Jackson. I love the melody, the percussion, the instrumentation, and the soul of the song.
Probably something like this. I'm fairly introverted and like my personal privacy. Probably similar to most people, I have an ideal version of myself that I strive towards and want to see realized, so it feels weird to present myself to the world as I am. I know that this is a huge hurdle for me.
Learning through struggle to express my thoughts and feelings in a way that can be shared with others.

Kendrick Lamar. He has realness, depth, emotion, and all-together incredibly composed music. I feel what he says as if he were simultaneously experiencing and expressing his thoughts at the same time.

Love your influences! Sorry to hear that your Dad passed away so young. I'm sure he is very proud of you. :)
John Mayer's instrumental performance of Human Nature at Michael Jackson's memorial service has to be one of the most soulful things I've heard.
