𝟭. Where are you from and what is your hobby?

We are a real band from Vancouver Canada, and there are actually 8 members and counting in our group so far. Most of our band are still in high school, so right now music is our hobby, but maybe some day music will be our full time gig, and school can be our hobby.

𝟮. How did your get into music?

We started out as a little songwriting project, that slowly morphed into a recording project, and then a real band, which we definitely are now. There were something like 15 people involved in recording our first album, which we are releasing over 2021. We aren't too exclusive about our membership. Think of us like the dead poets society, if they formed a band at the end of the movie, instead of just standing on their desks.

𝟯. Who are your biggest influences?

There's probably too many to name, The Killers, Arcade Fire, Vampire Weekend, The Stone Roses, Beabadoobee and Superorganism are some of our biggest ones. We have a wide variety of tastes, and record in lots of different genres. Our upcoming album has a bit of pop punk, indie folk and dream pop. I think the core of our sound is indie pop though.

4. What are your goals in the music industry?

We want to get better with every release, that's our biggest goal. Originally our goal was to have our music go out beyond just our immediate friends and family, but I think we are already there actually. Maybe it's only to a few people, but it's really cool to think that there are people out there, that we've never met, who have heard our songs.

5. If you could choose a location to perform at, what would it be?

Growing up I had an obsession with Brit Pop and Madchester, I remember seeing a video of James live at GMex, so I've always had that in my head as a dream venue!

6. What is your all-time favorite song?

So many to pick! But how about When You Where Young by The Killers. That was the song that cemented The Killers as my favourite band, and inspired me to get into songwriting.

7. Most embarrassing moment?

We had to rush to get our album finished before covid hit in 2020. It snowed the day before one of our studio days, so when I was picking up everyone I got stuck quite badly in the snow. In the end one of our younger members (Who definitely had her drivers license) had to take the wheel, while the rest of us dug / pushed the car out. My pride as a Canadian who knows how to drive in the snow was definitely damaged.

8. Proudest accomplishment?

Getting our first album finished was a huge accomplishment. It took almost 3 years, there was a baby born, a pandemic, a snow storm, and now finally we get to release it! We are going to release a song a month until we've released them all!

9. What is something about you that might surprise someone who knows you the best?

Our band hasn't met in person since last summer! Hopefully things will open up here soon and we can finally get back together! We've got a second album mostly written, that we are keen to get working on ... even though our first one hasn't been released yet!

𝟭𝟬. What is your dream collaboration?

Our dream collaboration would be with Beabadoobee, but she's way out of our league. She's been a big inspiration to us, she doesn't take her songwriting too seriously but also does really creative stuff. A more realistic dream collab though is a band called NERiMA! (Check them out!) We've gotten to be buddies with them online, and their music is so good. They are totally our sister band, they're another female fronted Canadian high school band just like us, so we've gotta stick together!
