𝟭. Where are you from and what are your hobbies?
I'm from Singapore, and I make a cappella music as my hobby! I also do pole fitness, yoga and inline skating :)
𝟮. How did your get into music?
I was brought up by a musical father, who sent me for piano lessons when I was a child. Over the years, I have dabbled in composing and producing my own songs, arranging a cappella songs and medleys for myself and others, as well as performing in choir (2006-2007), symphonic band as a percussionist (2008-2011), a cappella groups (2012-present), solo and group performances (2010-present).
𝟯. Who are your biggest influences?
dodie, Tori Kelly, Sara Bareilles, Taylor Swift, Jacob Collier, Rachel Bloom, Us The Duo, Pomplamoose, Zee Avi
4. What are your goals in the music industry?
I want to be one of the pioneers in the a cappella and musical crossover genre, because a cappella and musicals are 2 of my favourite genres and it would be amazing to mash them together
5. If you could choose a location to perform at, what would it be?
For a national day parade in my country, because home is where the heart is and I would love to be able to promote local music
6. What is your all-time favorite song?
I don't have an all-time fav but I'm pretty in love with songs from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend because the lyrics are just *chef's kiss*
7. Most embarrassing moment?
Tagging my crush in a #mentionyourcrush twitter hashtag and being ignored, and that was in secondary (middle) school so kids are like that what can we do??
8. Proudest accomplishment?
I sang a song to the prime minister of my country this year, I wrote a short one for him as he was meeting-and-greeting residents in the area and it was broadcasted on Facebook. That was exhilerating, especially so close to national day.
9. What is something about you that might surprise someone who knows you the best?
I plan to semi-retire at 40 and just make music at that point in my life, without a full-time job as a distraction or commitment. I want to have a home recording studio where I can make my own a cappella music for the rest of my life!
𝟭𝟬. What is your dream collaboration?
A song with Jacob Collier or dodie, because I believe Jacob Collier is the music genius of our generation, and dodie has the best lyrical composition with the most fitting sound design to go with it
