In this week's 10 Questions we get to know Ava Breeze, a singer-songwriter from New Jersey.
Her song Lemonade (LMN8) is currently featured on the NAS Spotify playlists.

1. Tell us a little about where you are from.
Hi there! I am Ava Breeze, an 18 year old singer/songwriter born and raised in New Jersey. I am currently in the process of recording a BUNCH of new original music and collaborating with incredibly talented people. I have just come off of two successful releases: my newest song “Kindest Thing” with BlueScarr just hit 20k streams! Also, the music video for “Lemonade (LMN8)” just dropped! I am constantly working on musical projects and I have so much in the works. It’s going to be a very exciting next few months. I am also a part of an upcoming new series… but I can’t talk about that much yet haha.
2. What inspired Ava Breeze to start playing and making music?
I have always been very musically driven. Constantly participating in my school/community programs like regional choirs, musicals, and I picked up the guitar. During covid, I decided to push an original song of mine into production and I fell in love with the entire process. I’ve learned a lot about songwriting and production since then, and my passion for becoming a musician only grew. I haven’t looked back since.

3. Who are Ava Breeze's biggest musical influences?
While my genres range from pop, EDM, and indie/ballads… I have many musical inspirations! I pull from different generations, genres, and artists, learning something new from every song I experience. Some notable artists along my journey has definitely been Enya, Billie Eilish, Dave Matthews, The Weeknd, Depeche Mode, Ariana grande, Madonna, and so so many more.

4. What are your goals in the music industry or as an artist?
My ultimate goal is for my music to touch people all over the globe. I would love to tour and connect with people from all over, sharing the same joy and experience. I love performing live, and I hope I get to expand my audience and perform on bigger stages.
5. Tell us about your creative process.
Inspiration can strike at any time. Sometimes I think of single lines at a time and jot them down quickly in my notes app, and others I just sit down and hear the melody in my head all at once. I can start by creating the melody, or if it’s a collaboration, I can hear the instrumental track and craft a melody to it. I like to bend music and each project’s process is so different than the last.
6. What is your all-time favorite song by another artist and why?
I genuinely don’t have a single favorite song, so I will simply choose the one that hits closest to my heart at this time. A child close to our family past away recently, and her favorite song is “Cover me in Sunshine” by P!NK. Whenever it plays on the radio I cry.

7. What is the best advice you have either given or received in terms of music?
This is advice I will preach forever. Dont give up, and don’t be afraid to be different. Your music might not appeal to everyone, but if your music can touch just one persons heart, your craft is worth it. Make it your own. Make it personal, and never stop learning. Music is an extension of your soul, and your story is worth telling.
Dont give up, and don’t be afraid to be different.
8. What is your proudest accomplishment?
I won “best emerging artist” at the LA Film Festival for my music video “Young Love,” and I’ve also hit 10k monthly listeners on Spotify at one point… yet I’d still say my proudest achievement is getting to read all of the ways my music has changed, helped, or inspired other people. Sometimes I get DM’s of story’s and how my music has resonated with someone. Things like that help keep me going.
9. What's been your most embarrassing moment so far?
One time I was on stage and my ring caught in my hair during my very first song. I performed with my hair sideways my entire set, it was SO EMBARRASSING.
10. Tell us about your lowest and highest points in music so far.
My lowest point would definitely be my own self doubts. The thoughts creep in of “am I good enough to become something” but then my highs are what remind me that I must push through. My highs are growing stream counts, fan stories, and music video praise. My highs are my growing community of artists rooting for each other. My highs are the collaborations and connections I’ve already formed along the way. My highs drown away those doubts.
First, I must say that your voice is amazing, and you give your singing a very unique cadence, because those rhythms require a joy and intention that not everyone can convey, and you... you do. Congratulations, Ava Breeze!
Nice to get to know more about you Ava, to win such an award speaks volumes about your talent. It sounds like you have exactly the right talent and personality to be successful in music and you just need to keep the positives outweighing any self doubt you may have.
Wow Ava! Good to meet you! Keep working hard and stick to your true self! It is good to have songs that you can react to emotionally. For me, it is 'Reflections of My Life' from Marmalade. I'll check out the song from P!nk.
Thanks for the mention Ava. You are a special talent with a bright future. I enjoy working with you and I'm looking forward to what we have planned ahead, and maybe more after that! Hope everyone is being nice to you!
I really enjoyed learning more about Ava Breeze, her background and her music. She has a lot of talent and a super positive attitude. I couldn't agree more with the advice she shared "Don't give up, and don’t be afraid to be different." I look forward to hearing more of her music 😎
